Has outfield range been fixed?
In our long running online league we have run into an issue that was very common in OOTP 19. We have a ton of OFers with 20 range or so (we run a 1-100 scale). A lot will actually have some pretty decent speed, even up to 100. These guys can't play 1B to save their lives so all of them are relegated to DH for the most part.
You could play them in the OF all you want but their range will never increase while in the majors/minors even with top end speed, high intelligence/work ethic. Was this something that was fixed in 20? Will we see less and less guys with only 20 range or will range actually be something that will increase over time with forced play in the minors for some guys? |

speed isn't related to OF range or IF range in ootp. that's why it's not having any effect.
defensive ratings can improve, but not common -- and definitely not happening in a positive manner by the time they are developed and playing in the MLB with out it being TCR related. there are plenty of fast players that have horrible range in the real MLB. they take horrible angles, or they don't track the ball quickly off the bat -- a deer in headlights for a second or two... a fast mlb player vs a slow mlb player isn't more than a few steps over any short distance. excluding the absolute clods and catchers with broken-down legs... if they don't have talent to play the position defensively, they won't gain it over time without TCR. a bad 1b isn't like a bad corner OF. play him 1b/dh. if you have 3 of those guys, well, that's poor planning. trade one. you had time to avoid the situation altogether. A bad first baseman with a good bat is a good first baseman.
