Live Start - Inaccurate 25 man roster
So, I just downloaded OOTP 20 and fired up a Live Start sim for today's date. I am a White Sox fan and was hoping to have a lineup ready for today's opener against the Mariners. However, when the game opened the 25 man roster was not accurate. Eloy Jimenez was not in the lineup or even on the active roster; he was still in AAA. Which is weird because he started the season on the active roster and has MLB stats from the update. But somehow he is still in AAA at the start of the sim.
So, my question is this. When I start a Live Start sim can we have the updated Organization's rosters in the entire MLB set accurately? Is there a way to use the Update Player Ratings button in the Game Settings to also do this in an upcoming patch or release? If this has been addressed elsewhere, forgive me. I looked and didn't see anyone else mentioning this... |

It seems silly to me that we can update each players stats completely up to date but we can’t have the organizations rosters updated?
I was hoping for a feature where I could be watching a game on tv and literally manage THAT game and play a season from that point forward. The entire MLB would be updated with stats, rosters, lineups, etc and I could move forward from there. MLB the show does this with daily games and lineups. Just getting the opening-day assignments correct takes dozens of hours of work. It's simply not possible to redo that every single day. Moreover, even if the players were reassigned, the AI is just going to move guys up or down immediately anyway. The AI in the game assigns players based on their Zips projections, and it will always have some different opinions about who should be at what level than the MLB managers do. Lukas does some fudging with the ratings to get the MLB opening-day rosters mostly right, but the minor leagues are never 100% accurate even on opening day. it's because the AI controls teams... it can be updated, but it's going to make decisions based on the ratings and various realted sliders sthat provide some differentiation from one AI team to the next.
imo, they should just 'force' it the first year to save some time, if they do put in a ton of hours fudging ratings to make AI use similar rosters. that's a corner worth cutting... it's arbitrary at best no matter what decision is made in most cases -- i.e. arguebly both correct in most cases etc... minors has a whole other part to consider too. stage of development isn't based on anything as concrete as say a 5-year MLB vet. it's a total crapshoot on top of all the same reasons above for the mlb. ootp is a simulation. it makes choices. it's impossible for those choices to match the real world lock-in-step -- unless it isn't a simulation anymore and they just key it in from live updates (maybe this is a good future suggestion -- seems reasonable and wouldn't not forced on all people. a continued sophistication of the live update feature. i'm not 'against' you even if i don't prefer to play it that way.). until the dynamic changes, this will only be a source of frustration if you think of it differently and self-inflicted at that.
