Crashing Problem

Hey,

My 2 seasons so far are 2/2 on crashing during PbP. I am doing classic webcast mode. Once was early May, once was late April. Without any warning message, or popup, the game just closed. Both times in the middle of a game. I am using the latest/most updated edition of OOTP. Anyone else having this problem?

If you can let us know exactly what is happening during the crash, that would help track it down. Are you clicking on a button when it goes away, or dropping a guy into a lineup spot? Are you watching in 3D, 2D, classic 2D, etc? Managing substitutions for the team? If it's when you start a play, is it when you click, or double-click on a button, or are you pressing 1/space/enter to do the play? It's definitely rare that it happens overall, but there are a few reports out there so it would be great if we can track this down and reproduce it here.

Even some more information like what version of the os you are running could help us figure out in what cases this happens.

The last time it happened, I clicked on the finish half inning tab. Then it almost instantly, without warning, just closed out. No message before/during/after.

Previous times, it was just during a routine play-by-play play. In classic webcast, I believe I probably was hitting 1 or A. Not during a sub, or anything special, just a regular AB.

Since OOTP 19..

Until RISP/Half Inning is the most common cause.. This is ridiculously annoying.

Yes since 19 the RISP causes a crash about once every 10 games. Pretty annoying.

It happened pretty often early on in OOTP 19 then went away with one of the updates. Since the early October OOTP 19 update it's been awful. (Oct 3, 2018 to be exact is when I could no longer complete a single game).

Every single game for one of my leagues in both 19 and 20. Every ~10 sounds about right for the new league I started in 20.

Playing in Modern 3D and clicking either RISP or Half inning. It freezes for a second and then just shuts the whole program down. Playing 1 pitch. Windows 10 Steam version. This was in OOTP 19 also. I would say 1 in 10 games has this crash. Maybe a little less often for me today.

Unfortunately it's really hard to pinpoint totally random crashes like you guys are describing here.

The first thing to do would be to try to go through the steps in the first post here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=299986

Just to make sure things are totally up to date and that other programs are not running in the background that might trigger random crashes.

If it still happens, then as Matt mentioned, providing as much info as possible about exactly what is happening in-game just before the crash can help us out.
