Box score visuals

Just wondering why the box scores look the way they do this season. on a just a massive gray screen with no borders or separation from anything. The organized way it looked in 19 was better

Haven't played much yet (should be getting a new laptop this week), but that was the first thing that jumped out to me as well.

agreed, I definitely prefer the old boxscore format, but it's not a gamebreaker!

Agreed. Was much easier to read to in 19. Now its a wall of grey.

I hadn't really given it much thought, but playing tonight I started thinking more about it. And came to the realization that I quite like the new look. Cleaner, uncomplicated.
It appears I am likely in the minority on this.

There are areas of the game that you can get used to but the gray seems just odd.

A huge percentage of the game has the beautiful transparent background and then a few selective views drastically change into this blob of single color (gray).
It is very noticeable on a large screen.

I believe some pages like the schedules page also does not carry forward the same font (in my case 18 classic font with large font).
It looks slightly different.

Agreed.

The box scores and various other screens look pretty bad this year. At least the bland grey in the dark skin is better than blinding white in the classic skin.

I wonder if some other color/shade might help? I know that many people found a white background to be hard on the eyes.
I should probably say that I do play the game with my laptop hooked up to my T.V., so it is based upon how it looks on a large screen that my impression has been formed.
But again, everyone has different aesthetic preferences or things that cause them visual strain. I realize that it is a bit much for every little aspect of the game to be customizable for the user, but perhaps a few options could exist (if they don't already, and I'm just unaware of them) for how this screen looks?

During the beta testing for OOTP 20, the original box score had a default white background screen and several people, including myself, felt that it contrasted too much with the darker default skin elsewhere in the game. People reported that it was hurting their eyes. So, the change was made to utilize the darker box score colors in order to make the box score screen consistent with what you see in the rest of the game.
You are definitely right that this should be customizable. I am not sure either if that is already the case, so I apologize if I am mistaken.

I think the gray background is a big step backwards from v19 ... but while I'd prefer at least the option to use a transparent background instead of the gray one ... it's no deal-breaker for me
