Well, the new trade AI isn't perfect

Top prospect in our system, plus a useful young reliever for BROCK HOLT? As Twins manager, I was heavily displeased with Falvine for this atrocity.

Lol love that Lewis is positioned as a throw in too.

What's Holt's salary?

there are bad GM's... probably 75% of them are not very good at their jobs. only a few teams maintain success for more than one window of opportunity... they are better and more disciplined about the future etc etc.

anyone can get lucky.. and out of 30 teams many of the bad gm's do experience that sort of luck. there's X amount of talent and even the dumb ones will run into it based on how the draft works and rule 5 etc.

Hey, dont talk bad about All-Star Brock Holt! Or Postseason-Cycle-Hitter Brock Holt!

I am not sure how you figured that the AI is not perfect, when the AI got the better of you (seemingly) from this trade.

As the human GM all you had to do was say NO and maybe try other combinations of the trade by maybe adding money other players etc.. or just walking away without giving up your top prospect.

The AI depending on what level of difficulty you're using is going to try and seek maximum advantage just like any real life GM would.

I don't know how you negotiated the deal, but I go back and forth with a combination of different things to make the deal balance and if they don't want to part way with the player without offering me something legit, then I walk away for the time being.

It is really a double edged sword. I'm trying to make room on my roster for Jason Pazos so I shopped Adam Morgan. Here are some of the players I've been offered in return:

Miguel Cabrera, Ardolis Chapman, Kenley Jansen, Eric Hosmer, and Wade Davis.

And I'm playing Challenge Mode with Trade Difficulty set to "HARD."

I think the big problem is nowhere in the Player Evaluation Settings does it factor in salary. Teams are far too apt to dump salary and to do it quickly.

I may be wrong, but from reading his post it sounds like he's playing as manager only and the AI GM made the trade.
