Pirates Major Leagues Join Date: Mar 2014 Posts: 371	Bunting Started Historical league year 1929. I have played through 2 seasons. The I.A. is bunting when teams would not bunt. Example: I have seen teams down 5 to 10 runs bunt to advance the runner over. This happens often in the 7th to 9th inning. A team down by 8 in the 8th would not bunt to advance the runner.
