Pennant Fever Baseball

Hi y'all,

Name's Albert Benson, some of you might know me from .400, as I created tpb-fans.com

I was skeptical in starting up my first online league, because quite frankly I wasn't sure if the idea would work, but after talking to Mark Cooley, he said it would work, and should be a fun thing. So I thought I'd give running a league a shot, as I've had experience with Action PC! Football and I've played OOTP5 solo for a while.

The league is called Pennant Fever Baseball, inspired by the current playoff races we are seeing in the MLB. The website is http://tpb-fans.com/pennantfever/index.htm

The concept is 16 teams (currently the top 8 AL teams and top 8 NL teams) each play a 30 game season, fighting for one playoff spot in each league. We'll be simming everyday, one simulation day per time frame, to capture the true "day by day" fight for the playoffs. Each team will have three starters, just like in the playoffs, and the winner of each league will play in the 7 game World Series.

With your team that you pick, you get to choose 25 of the players from your roster (5 pitchers) and 5 emergency players to go into your farm system in case of injuries. We will have a unique rookie system, since the season is too short for progression. I found out players don't progress in my multiple test sims. I advise you to check out the <A HREF="http://tpb-fans.com/pennantfever/rules.htm">rules</A> if you want to find out all the specs. We'll get in about 8-9 seasons a year with this league, as each season only takes about 6 weeks.
