Nice! But this quote bugs me:

Quote:
OOTP 20 is a text-sim, which means the actual gameplay is primarily conveyed through text and not in animated action like we see in more traditional sports games.
Come one, we have 3D now... sure, it's not as pretty as MLB the Show, bit it's surely worth mentioning, right?

but.. it's true?

lol.... animations in ootp are not the same as animations in an action sports game.

are both technically a facade? sure.. but one is drastically different than the other. one is mre about physics and a 3d world with rules... one is a representation of statistical outcomes and not really calculating any physics or making a player "run" a distance in a 3d world... either it was caught or not before the visuals occur, then the lil pawns do it. it's not an 1st-person sports game seated in 3d physics world or whatever the correct verbage is. it is a text-sim with a facade to watch.

it is 3d. it does represent what happened. different means to similar ends...

no worries, forbes is a dirty rag of a magazine.

OOTP is more than a game, OOTP is an immersive simulation packed with historical data!

And XX has the smoothest 3D sims I have seen thus far. I am really pleased when I watch the replays.

OOTP is the most f'ed up rabbit hole ride I have ever embarked. And the thing is, the more I spend time on it, involuntarily I descend deeper and deeper. This addiction to try and take advantage of the endless opportunities the game provides is getting serious, like son, you need to look in the mirror time. Man, this is good, and this is bad. My sincere props go out to Mr. Markus and crew for making their dream my nightmare, and I mean this in the most sincere and unapologetic way as possible!

Now, now, mind the old proverb - there is no bad publicity! Anything that gets people to know you is good!

I will elaborate more on this once I have published my article here, "OOTP 20 will EAT YOUR CHILDREN" ... (slams enter key)

i got you covered, I tweeted at him. I also mentioned that you can even watch highlights from throughout the whole baseball world, which is something you cannot do in the Show.

Maybe I'll write my own review but i'd have nowhere to put it lol

definitely far more limited in creativity with the console-type games.

maybe, start with a dinky phone app that tests various physics, but guised as a simple game -- related to baseball, of course. data from various versions of those refine various things overtime. then, reduce how much effort is needed to attach something like that to ootp.

i think the hardcore players just rolled over just a hypothetical if you were ever thinking of going that direction with the current 3d portion of the game. certainly not a personal request. 162 games is too long to play out in that way for me. as with everything else you guys do, everything is optional and doesn't prevent any other form of playing ootp.
