This has been a super fun league to be a part of for the past 6 weeks, but after tomorrow I'm gonna set it to random and focus on 20 when it comes out Friday. Everyone in Orcin's perfect league please remove me from your friends list.
Looks like the final WC spot in both conferences are coming down to the final game. Good luck to everyone still in the running for the playoffs. Cheers! |

Once again, just want to say a huge THANK YOU (!!!) to Orcin for all the efforts and hard work making this game just a little (or even a lot) more enjoyable for so many of us. Really a brilliant idea and very well executed once we figured things out. So to Orcin... CHEERS!!

Hey all my ex Mini Whale pals... how goes the seasons?
Just curious if you found the competition easier or tougher going against teams with a much higher "cap" again? |

Except for a few super teams that you can randomly meet, I find the competition a lot weaker that what it was in the mini-whale league, where everyone was very good. |

There are tough teams in my league but the depth is not there. I feel that it is a much easier league overall.

Btw, Look at the last place team the Braves in my Division. They are on a pace to win less then 10 games this season. I have never seen a record this bad. And the sad part about it is one of those wins was against me. They are now currently on a 28 game losing streak....

Now that I can just plug in anyone, the competition seems boring. It was a lot more fun having to consider the benefits of a Perfect player vs other combinations.
Base Thieves have the 2nd best record in the league and could be a lot better if I cared more about them. The lack of discussion and competition removed a lot of the fun for me. I miss the drama and hilarious comments. I feel like I learned a lot more in the other league and read lots of interesting subjects (Aussie sports, baseball cards, ....). I already reached out to Zorro to make a mini-friends list so that we could compete in the same league against whales / other teams. It just is more fun with others that I know and that like to post about what is going on.

Yes, I miss that drama also. No one tells me to shut up or that watching means nothing. Lol. Asaintsfan and I have a rivalry but that went on before this league. Now we just ramped it up a little. But I do miss the passion people had in the old league. Here it is just Kushiel, Asaintsfan and myself posting. We had a lot of characters in our old league and I kinda miss them and the comments and post they would bring. That league actually taught me a lot. We had a lot of thinkers in it. 😁

Yeah it sounds like we ALL agree that the cap system that ran in Orcin's league actually ended up doing the opposite of what I thought it would... it made the teams BETTER after a few seasons of learning and optimizing and adjusting and strategizing. I honestly feel the best teams with "lower" rated players was way stronger than these new teams I'm facing in P403 with overall WAY higher cap point ratings. My Blue Gryphons did well a couple years in Orcin's league, but never made the finals and struggled to be a playoff team, actually missing the playoffs the second last year and the final year not even finishing in the running for a WC spot. In P403 they're 59-29 and on top of the league (although still relatively early and time to go wrong). But there's teams in P403 with a cap point of over 90... and while they're doing well, I still would rather face them than many of the Orcin league teams.
Maybe we can keep this thread alive and hear updates on how all our old competitors are faring? |

Maybe I got bad luck with my league draw, because I'm in the race to avoid relegation, something which I was never close to in the mini-whale league.

Here's a team in P403 I'm up against. He's at 55-32 so definitely not doing poorly by any means. But with apologies to anyone who knows the guy (or if he reads this) I can't help see that this is what we talked about with creating Orcin's league. He's got all the best players on his team. Wish I could show you his reserve roster... trust me those diamonds go down a LONG way...
My Blue Gryphons may well lose the AC to him before the year's done, but right now sitting several games up on him (I'm 60-30, he's 55-32), and his "cap" hit is at 105. With potential to easily put a 125 (max) team out there with the investment he's made, and then some. His reserve roster is at 351 cap points!!! Point being... there really is something to be said to just how tough that league was.
