It's not like you can take the best manager in baseball and put him on a ****ty team and he'll win the WS. You also need the best players. Last edited by zrog2000; 03-13-2019 at 12:31 PM. |

I am sorry, I will say this one more time then you win ok? I said dominate the game. There is no hitter that dominates the game like Pedro does in pitching. Ruth and Cobb are good like Guerrero is (Does That make you feel better?)oops Got to go my Niece is done. Thank God.....😁

I tend to agree...this is a numbers driven game. Everything is hosted in a .db and there are other numbers (not exposed to us) that drive the outcome.
We do know what the top 100 looks like in the PT universe. It is filled with teams that have a majority of high end rare cards. I took a quick look at the year end results of about 100K players and about 12% of the players in the top1000 are cards ranked lower than 90. If we look at top performances, only 2 players are in the top200 ranked lower than 90. 10% of the top1000 is Cobb/Ruth/Seymour. Of course the data has its flaws...example - majority of players tend to use higher ranked cards so lower ranked ones could have performed as well if given more chances. - a higher defense value on a lower card could correlate to wins. - I don't know if my year end results tell the full story (lots of runs in a blowout is less important than a critical hit in another situation). If there is a .db field for clutch performance, Zorro could get wins by using the right player in the right situation. Last edited by joehart; 03-13-2019 at 12:56 PM. |

Guys Guys ... I can wipe my own butt
Thats my way of saying this conversation should be done Does Zorro have good players? Of course ... its obvious he has a good lineup ... Do I think his team would be as good if he just set it and walked away all week ... no... The luxury of having a good lineup and the ability to play matchups means he can swap players for righty/lefty parks .. or if he wants a certain pitching matchup .. or if he wants to be more defensive ... and some of you will say doesnt matter .. or it will only add a few wins ... but thats all it takes is a few wins ... the difference between winning the division .. making the playoffs all come down to those few sometimes ... At first when I saw Zorros posts about his team and underperforming .. or so and so sucks .. when they are really good ... I laughed a little .. but the thing is .. the man has passion about the perfect team universe... he watches the games ... he roots for his players .. he sees whos clutch who is not ... so if he wants to express his thoughts on that ... then so be it .. im not going to fault someone for expressing themselves when his intentions are merely that .. how he feels on his team I wish I had his passion. The truth is I dont even really like baseball. Sure i play fantasy sports ... I play this game ... but i never watch baseball .. only been to a few games ... and really never played it.... and I have never watched a replay on here... I just like numbers .. stat guy ... I like applying the numbers and seeing what pops out on the otherside |

This is one of the best (see link below). Dog Days in also great for a slower pace 6 seasons/ calendar year. The problem will online leagues is they depend on a private individual to do a lot of work to keep it going, so is subject to just stop running at any time.

For the record, I haven't posted since page 4 and my last post was about the game and my own team.

There are 12 live perfect cards for 20. Yikes. Going to be a lot of disappointed people.

I am so sorry guys. I never realized my post were so annoying. I truly never tried to imply I was a underdog or how wonderful I was about playing out my games. I wanted to share what I have actually seen by playing out my games. Things that mathematically did not make sense in a numbers game but that I have seen over and over again. I feel so foolish and sorry if I annoyed anyone with this. That was not my intentions. My true intentions were to bring things out that I truly thought were a advantage in my favor that might help others who had the time or the will to do so and to let others know who worked that they were at a disadvantage because of being at work as not to get upset with your team because it was not your fault. I think people will find out I was right in 20 when you can manage your team all day that I did have a huge advantage in that area. As far as my team goes, I thought I was playing by the rules. But again I did not mean to annoy any of you with this and it will not happen again. I think I will be better off playing in a While league again where no one complained about my team or dumb thoughts. 😁

Zorro, you're cool. Not sure why everyone is on edge this week.

I thought your comments were interesting. I'm always looking for ways to improve my play and or team. I think you will be in heaven in 20 even if your current strategies won't be applicable. Tournaments are a game changer and I think will be more interesting than the regular season. For me, always coming up with new teams to meet the tournament constraints will be more fun than tweaking lineups.

Any ideas for 20? Here is 1 I picked up on discord: you get a free gold card for all 3 teams on your license. So, it pays to start all 3 on day 1 and only invest $ in the best one.

Not a bad thought. I wonder if the free gold pack works for all three teams assuming you pre-order or get it day one I steam. I'm guessing so.

The downside is you only get 3 days in entry pool.
