Decided crack some packs on my 'Bronze only' team. I think I have some hard choices to make now.
I got this:
It was the 4th Diamond I pulled in 10 packs. |

I don't think it is a hard choice at all. Play him.

This would cause me to abandon my theme and build a team around him and see how high you can get with him and what you start pulling from F2P packs.

It's the tough call because I'd be willing to bet that card sells for a helluva lot on the auction house. But man, it's so pretty.
If you were planning on bronze-only, I would suggest changing your mentality to now play it as a "stars and scrubs" team. Keep him, maybe keep some of the other diamonds you drew as well, but don't have any gold (or maybe even no gold or silver cards) and see where they can take you. Especially at the lower levels, I bet that Ruth card could be a 10 WAR player. |

I'd play him as Orcin and others have said.
I bought that card at a slightly discounted price with the intention of flipping it and I just couldn't. So he patrols Left Field. |

I would sell Ruth and use the funds to purchase the best starting pitching staff you can.
I suspect that PP are earned by SP at a higher rate than everyday players. Several diamond level starters, especially at Bronze and Silver level, can generate thousands of PP each week by themselves. On my 3rd team, I was lucky enough to pull a 97 Randy Johnson right away, who has now won both the Cy and the MVP for three seasons in a row and has been a PP generation engine. Together with a 99 Kershaw, the team flew through the Bronze and Silver levels, winning championships both years and generating significant points. Course this is easy for me to say, as I never had a Ruth and would struggle to part with it if I did! |

I have no way to prove it. But just from ratings the 1920 Babe Ruth looks like the single best card in the game.
Able to get on base at will and also hit for power. And defense would be around average and good enough on the base paths as well. |

He should have an eye rating of around 135-140ish but that might break the simulation. |

In 02 he 'only' had 68 IBB, he slashed .384/.556/.976 against lefties, but I think his contact, power, and eye are all under 80. Who knows?
