I am out of the playoffs, in spite of outscoring my opponent in the series 17-15. 4 out of the 5 games were decided by one run, including all three of their victories.
And it is ironic that my defensive team lost the last game even though it gave up no earned runs. I lost 2-1 and both runs scored due to an error by the pitcher. That stings Last edited by Maddox; 02-17-2019 at 03:50 PM. |

The Hoggs' season is over. Lost 4-3 in Game 5, Montreal walking it off in the 9th.
Oh well, I guess that frees up the rest of my day

The Perfect 413 Dragon slayed by the poor villager and his pea shooter.
Won't be a fifth WS title for the 107-win Koronin's Kowboys this season thanks to the underdog Gryphons after three straight wins to cap it off... final four set: ![]() All four finalists have won a WS title... and a couple forum regulars in there too... cool. Good luck fellas. Last edited by Dunzie; 02-17-2019 at 04:25 PM. |

Wish me luck, the Laurelton Corsairs are playing the Vallejo Bats in the sub-league series. Corsairs went 91-71 this season taking first in the AC East while the Bats went 105-75 in the AC Central. Its the Bats fourth year and they've won championships the previous three going 128-34 in both Bronze and Silver then 109-53 in Gold. It'll be nice to harpoon this whale with this ftp team.
Vallejo Bats took the opener 21-6 LOL I'll take the positive that we scored six runs ;-) Corsairs take game 2 by a score of 8-1. Chris Sale goes seven innings giving up a run on four hits while fanning seven and walking none. Corsairs win game 3 8-3 as Trevor Bauer goes seven giving up two runs. Corsairs take game 4 7-2 behind Phil Niekro's eight innings and two runs allowed along with homers by Hank Aaron, Ralph Kiner and Bill Terry. Bats win game 5 3-2. Seaver pitches must better going 7 and allowing no runs but the bullpen spits the bit in the ninth giving up three runs. Off to Vallejo for the final game(s) of this series. Bats ballpark has the averages set to 1.1, doubles and triples to 1.5 and homers set at 0.9. Chris Sale (Lau) vs. John Smoltz (Val) in game 6 which was taken by a score of 4-3 by Vallejo. Game 7 between Trevor Bauer and Kevin Brown coming up which the Vallejo Bats take by a score of 7-5. In the National Conference the Montreal Expos have taken their series 4-1 over the Atlanta Scallywags and wait for their opponent in the championship. Good luck to the Montreal Expos, hope their harpoons are honed. Last edited by Will_L; 02-17-2019 at 08:44 PM. Reason: Update |

The Geese fell behind 2-0 in the Division Series but battled back to even the series by winning twice at home. Unfortunately, they lost 6-0 in game 5 to end their season. The most disappointing part of it is that Sad Sam Jones (16-10, 2.69), who won the league ERA Crown, lost games 1 and 5 of the series, ending up with a postseason ERA of 9.58, allowing 22 hits and 11 runs in only 10.1 innings.
The Bloodbuzz swept their Division Series but are in a real battle against the Hsin-Chu Frogs in the next round as they try to advance to the finals. They lost game 1 by a score of 3-2, and game two by a score of 4-3. They went on the road and scored two runs late to come back and win 2-1. The Bloodbuzz will send Lance McCullers to the hill in an attempt to even the series. He was much better on the road than at home this season, so this is a good spot for him. During the regular season, he pitched against the Frogs twice, getting roughed up at home and dominating them on the road. |

...swept them. Aaron hit .643 with 4 HR's and 9 RBI. Off to the finals.

McCullers struggles early in game 4, allowing 3 runs in the 1st and another in the 3rd. He ended up with 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, and 2 walks while striking out 11. Johnny Mize and JD Martinez each homered as the Bloodbuzz came from behind to win 5-4 and even the series at 2 games apiece. It’s pretty wild that all four games have been decided by 1 run.
Game 5 is scheduled to be a matchup between Trevor Bauer for the Bloodbuzz and Bobo Newsom for the Frogs. |

Game 5 of the series was the 5th 1-run game of the series. Someone finally won a home game. The Frogs scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat my Bloodbuzz 3-2. I now have to win games 6 and 7 at home to move on to the Championship.
Game 6 will be Curt Schilling, who pitched well in game 1 for the Frogs vs. Max Scherzer, who allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, including 3 home runs, in game 2. I really need Scherzer to step up here. |

The Yakety Yaks are in the the Perfect 413 World Series and it is looking like we will meet those Blue Gryphons of Dunzie's. Good luck winning that 4th game to join me.

Done. Interesting matchup... didn't get to face each other this season yet so it's a true AC/NC clean slate! Also interesting - we both won PL World Series titles in 2025! Difference of course is that you followed yours up with a second title the next year. I lost in the finals if I'm not mistaken. Good luck to you! Series opener in 6 minutes! Popcorn in hand. I mean, uh, my lineup card and scouting reports... |

I won my very first playoff series since starting playing on December 24th.
I won the divisional round and the sub league series round and am now in the Bronze league championship and have a 1 game to 0 lead. I may get promoted after all. It has been a long time coming. |

When I was looking at the postseason teams, I was sure you were going to go all the way. Best defense and pitching by far, a pretty well-balanced lineup... But playoffs do what playoffs does!

The Geese won big in game 6 but got blown out in game 7. I didn’t make the finals but I’m in the top 4 and headed to Silver. I’m pretty sure I’ll have 3 Silver teams next season.
