I should have guessed this would happen, but with my british name files I got 'Russell Russell', 'Andrew Andrew', and of course 'Scott Scott'. Back to the drawing board...

Richard Hurts was pretty funny. I also liked Tom Kaat. Those were the only two I've seen that I can think of off the top of my head.

A league I recently started has a starting pitcher named Mary Daggett and an outfielder named Ulysses McNutt, which has to be one of the great names of all time.

I erased "Eloy" from my name files after three guys showed up with it and were playing at the same time. I've never heard of anyone named Eloy.

Name Game

As a Buddy Holly fan, I have to opt for Ray Vaughn (from Buddy's song "Rave On").

My hero is John "The Saint" Goodrow, who I took as the second pick overall in the 2010 draft.

He made a quick jump to the majors to fill a weak 3b spot and hit .230 with 14 HR's in his rookie campaign.

In 2012 he had a sophomore season of .307, 36 HR's and 114 RBI.

The new UBA produced a 1901 player called Paul "Psycho" Martin - a strange nickname for the turn of the century
