Ok, my in-game user name is glenn (Philadelphia Patriots). I've purged all the live cards, and have the future legends on the block. None of the live cards held much value over their minimum, so that was pretty easy.

I have a team in Silver that I'm trying to make all Future Legends. Only need one more pitcher and 2 catchers (the few Future Legends catchers rarely show up on the AH). I'd be interested in the Silver league, if I don't get promoted to gold. For some reason my squad of out of position guys I'm trying to train up has a 2.5 game lead in its division.

The Aceldama Butchers go from 25-29, and an apparent third straight losing season, to finish at 91-71, winning their last five to gain a Wild Card berth on the final day.



I guess the team was unhappy that Bud Parusha had enlisted them into a Silver League and are trying to foil his plans. Given their less than stellar record in the playoffs, I'm still anticipating joining with the three (?) others who eschew the live cards. I really like the concept, so although I'd like one of my three teams to finally get to at least a Conference Final, knowing that I can compete with a few like-minded players would cushion failure. Hopefully more will join as we go along.


By the way, it seems this Friends list has a Pennsylvania flavor to it, with Keystone and Philadelphia teams on it. I actually live in Harrisburg, PA, but choose my team names from Phillip Roth's "The Great American Novel." I considered Oil City Orangutans, so you know I like your team name.

The shedding of the live cards seemed to work wonders for me. We went from a .500 team to having a couple of really hot months and finishing with the best record in the league.

I haven't had much luck in the playoffs either, but with four teams promoted it comes down to winning the division series to go to gold, or losing to return back.

Looks like we do have a Pennsylvania tilt so far. I'm in the western suburbs of Philly.

Good luck in the playoffs today. Hopefully we'll get a few more interested, especially with the chance our group could splinter before we get going.

Thanks, after being up 2 games to none I lost three straight games, so I'll be back in silver next year.

The Aceldama Butchers, heretofore hapless in the playoffs, with a Wild Card loss and getting swept as a Division winner in their two playoff appearances, suddenly decide to succeed... just when I wanted to remain in Silver.


They're 8-2 (6-0 on the road) and headed to the Series as a Wild Card. It's not that I'm unhappy for some success, finally. My playoff record before this year is like 2-14 across three teams (all built on Bottom Of The Sixth's model, with no players appearing on more than one roster). I'm really gonna be bummed out if we don't win.


Really hope the idea takes off and you get more people to join in. Best of luck, and thanks for inviting me in, however briefly. I'll keep you all on my friends list in the hopes that we hook up in a couple of weeks.

I'll be rooting for you.

It appears either not many people play our way, they are in other levels, or they just don't know about this league idea.

I was wondering if any of you ended up in the same league. I hope it worked. I also hope you kept BudParusha on your friends list because it seems the Aceldama Butchers stay in Gold will be short. Not really sure how a team that lost the 7th game in the series, and added Mike Piazza, in the off-season is doing so badly, but I think we're headed to relegation.


On a related note, are you okay with more than one team? My other two teams are also struggling. They are both historical only and I don't allow duplicate players across my rosters, so they are distinct teams. If I pull a duplicate I want to keep, I sell him off the other team's roster.



If so, please add NicknameDamur of the Kakoola Reapers and WarrenPease (didn't see the typo and too lazy to fix) of the Port Ruppert Mundys.
