Question about Ballpark factors
If I increase my Doubles and Triples ballpark factors, would my high OF range outfield help compensate defensively if I kept all other factors the same? I would think they would, but would appreciate other people’s thoughts.

Maxing 2Bs & 3Bs shouldn't generate more hits, you would think it would only increase the likelihood of a generated hit being a 2B or 3B. So I would think they would, otherwise your better defensive outfielders wouldn't have as much of a greater advantage over other average outfielders in your park.

I believe it would sort of be dependent on the opposing defenses and hitters. Basically the game is set to have a certain range of doubles and triples over a season to avoid video game type numbers. So, your max 2B and 3B park is going to take a larger share of that pot. Now, that share of the pot is divied up between you and your opponents depending on where the strengths lie. Great D + Great Gap batters vs. poor D +poor Gap batters and they'll shift more toward team A. If every stadium was max 2B and 3B, each stadium would get a fairly even share of that pot.
That's a bit simplified, but essentially how this game works. Last edited by DonkeyKongSr; 02-01-2019 at 02:55 PM. |

Would they (the outfielders with great range) turn those extra base hits into singles by being able to cut them off, or does defense not work that way?
