I gotta win game 5 in my Diamond divisional series - I feel like I have a team that could at least not get trounced in Perfect but something tells me my usual playoff collapse is in the cards.

Congrats to our very own joehart for taking down PT's wins leader, the Fargo Sun Dogs, with his Base Stealers. He's really built a nice team that plays very differently than the standard Perfect teams and it seems to be working against at least one super team. Keep going to that championship!

Check out the roster difference:

Okay I move forward in spite of my offense sputtering in the postseason. I won game five by a score of 1-0 and only tallied 3 hits in the game. My top hitters were Oquendo and Suzuki both only hitting .250 for the series

Here are the guys that should have hit for me and their series averages

Hernandez - .100
Trout - .235
McReynolds - .211
Buddy Bell - .188

If those guys don't start hitting I am going to be toast. I am going up against the only team with a better record than mine and who I went 2-4 against during the season.

My Yakety Yaks in Perfect League and my Lone Stars in Gold both won their Division Rounds so it is on to the Conference Championship for both my playoff teams.

The Hoggs will spend another year in Gold after being beaten 7-1 in Game 5 of the Divisional Series. 3 errors which led to 3 unearned runs didn't help, 2 of them coming from the usually impeccable Aparicio and Oquendo, but the complete lack of offense was the real nail in the coffin. Just 3 hits.

Now to spend the rest of the day wondering if starting Dizzy Dean ahead of Patrick Corbin for Game 5 was the right move or not

Saints advance to the conf finals against my main rivals, the Jersey Butchers. I beat them in the regular season, time to see if I choke it away in the seven game series.

We lose 3-1 in the Divisional Round to a team we finished 16 games ahead of in the regular season. We pitched well in each game but for some reason we just couldn't get going offensively.

From reviewing their team, they substantially upgraded their roster in September and I sat on my built up 16K thinking we had already enough to gain promotion.

Both of my diamond teams are in the league championship series. One is up 1-0, the other is down 2-1. Getting tiring logging in and out for every game.

Down 0-2 in the league championship. I think I am promoted regardless of the outcome. Although, if I am not even going to make it to the series I kinda wish I would stay in bronze. It has been very good to me in regards of points earned. 5 HR in 2 games but they were all solo shots.

Despite a 116 win campaign, I'm out after the Division Series, 1 to 3. Two 2-3 losses to pin on the offense, and a 7-5 loss that gets pinned on Dierker who was uncharacteristically bad.

Another week in bronze for my squad it is. Guess I'll be farming points for a nice catcher, at least.

I am going down. 0-3 at this point.

Hernandez is getting on at a .385 pace but then comes

Trout who is hitting .183. (far from perfect)
Albert belle behind him is hitting .091
McReynolds is at .167

The heart of my lineup is 5 for 34 in the current series, left 14 runners on base and have a combined 1 RBI. Hard to win with that lack of production

This team in bronze was probably my best shot at playing in the World Series.

I'm down 2-1 to the Butchers but have Koufax (97) on the hill against deGrom. I have a pretty good lineup versus righties so we'll see.

Arrghh. My lack of luck in playoffs continue. I got swept.

215 (109 and 106) wins in two seasons but falter every post season. I have won one post season series out of three with this team and as mentioned earlier in the thread that one series win was extremely lucky.

I was one of the final four and had the second best record in the league so I think I am going to silver tomorrow.

I'm down 3-1 to the Butchers......much to the chagrin of Diamond as I should win another 113 games next year at this level but can't seem to climb the mountain.

Edit: Rapped out 19 hits with Mike Scott on the hill with Cobb going 4-5 with a dinger.....it's now 3-2 Butchers.

I like what you are doing with your team a lot. Your staff is good for now to have nice seasons but I think work on your pitching as you can for the higher leagues and playoffs. My Yaks are a very good defensive team but our pitching is our "key for the D" at higher levels.

So, preparing for next season now. Had enough PP for one upgrade across the team. Either corner outfield (upgrade my Ichiro, who starts vs RHP) or rotation. Decided to spend it on pitching. Added Whitey Ford for 5K.

Had 1K left, so decided to splurge on a pack, because y'know, I like opening packs.

Silly Izz! All Live cards. One bronze, a 60. The rest iron, with 3 irons below 50.

Still, my two diamonds are card pulls so I figure I'm still well ahead of the odds.

Saints win game 6 with a pounding of 15-6. Chased Butchers starter Syndergaard in the third inning .....game 7 to decide the pennant. Justin Verlander for the Butchers versus Randy Johnson of the Saints.

Edit: Looks like I'm going to the world series and the perfect league. Nice competing against the Butchers this year, they are a good team. Game 1 against the Huskies features a perfect Randy Johnson versus mu 96 Koufax....my team loves lefties....

Just got home and my Hoboken Zephyrs are up 3-0 in the Silver Series! Swept the Division Series 3-0 and won the Conference title 4-1. My starting pitching has come through big time (relievers not quite as much). Some timely hitting by Carl Furillo and Roy White have put the Zephyrs in championship position.

My Lone Stars lost game 7 of the Conference Finals so we will try again next year.
The Yaks are tied 1-1 with the Base Stealers in the WS and although I like him, I hope we win. Too bad I cannot hang around and watch. Good luck to everybody still playing this late.
