Louisville Colonels here. My team made the adjustment to perfect last season and got in the playoffs, a big improvement over 94 losses in a meatgrinder season 6 perfect league. I am hoping to compete in this league but it looks a bit harder than my league last year.

I won 117 games last season just to lose again in the Playoffs. It seems to be a tiring routine I have, Make the playoffs and leave the Ring. 😒

The fact we have a Kentucky Colonels and a Lousiville Colonels is going to get confusing.

The Kentucky Colonels are a great team from down I-64 in Lexington. I look forward to playing them in the WS.

April was a pretty tough month for my hitters, especially the middle of the order. May is starting out a little better and I am slowly climbing up toward .500, but I won't be a threat to anyone until Frank Robinson, Brett, and Mays get over the Mendoza line.
I was considering dumping Randy Johnson last weekend, but I decided to give him another year and he is 3-2 with a 2.74 ERA. I was sure that Cy Blanton (1-3, 8.54) and Bob Gibson (1-4, 8.39) were solid rotation pieces and they have been terrible. This game is really hard to figure out. |

Fog Town Stars here. Start of new season was so far fine, fixed my issues with bullpen though I am looking for a leftie specialist ...
Interesting is that last season I lead in scored runs with solid pitching and finished second in my division but this season, except homers, my team is average in every team ranking but is leading the division ... |

Didn't realize there was a thread for this league. I'm the San Francisco 49ers. Zorro if you could stop winning i would really appreciate it.
If you are in the discord we have Battle Creek Maple Syrup Cartel, Yoshinoya and monterey bay. I just pulled the first hall of fame card that wasn't featured in the stream (Curt Schilling) so i'm hoping that works out well for me! |

At the All -Star break I lead my Division by 2 games. I need this break because my team is not running on all cylinders right now. My pitching is holding up well but my hitting has not been consistent at all. My lead off man Ty Cobb has been a disappointment in the first half of the season along with a few others. I have basically had this same core of players for the last few seasons as far as the batting lineup is concerned but if they continue to underperform for me they can hit the auction block quickly as there are many replacements for them. I do not need underperforming players on this team. I can get that anywhere for goodness sakes. We need to pick up the pace in the second half or some heads could role. I can waste my time in other ways. 😡

I have a 96 George Brett hitting .217 that could make your Cobb look like an all-star. I sold a couple of guys myself today. Sometimes, you just have to make changes.

I looked at the WAR leaders in our league... 13 of the top 27 position players are Mike Trout. Some things never change.
Edit: One of those 13 is the rookie sensation card, so at least that's some variety. There are 17 of the 2018 Live Trouts in our league and 2 of the rookies. Makes you wonder why the other 11 of us have not been assimilated. Last edited by Orcin; 01-24-2019 at 08:45 PM. |

Well Z, I see after your little pep talk that your team is coming to Louisville having won 7 of your last 8. I have won 9 of my last 11, so somebody is going to cool off here. It should be a great series. Good luck next month... after you're gone.

My Maddux (94) got bombed; your Maddux (93) allowed one run over eight innings; guess I overpaid for the wrong Maddux. ![]() My team just can't beat good teams. I am 11-3 against Regina (worst team in my division), and 6-0 against two teams in the other conference (one of whom is a tanker), but I am only 47-44 against the rest of the league. I need a Babe Ruth or a Ty Cobb but my chances of getting one from a pack are slim and even lower from my wallet. |
