Steam GM’s name disappears from Managers’ list

A new GM in our online league reports the following problem (I'm paraphrasing, not quoting):

I loaded the league file. I'm able to select my name in the managers’ list, but I’m not able to set my lineups. So I go to the file dropdown and download the latest file. It downloads and kicks me out of the game when the download finishes. I open OOTP again, load the league, and now it no longer shows my name on the managers’ list.

The GM is using Steam, and the commissioners are not, if that makes any difference.

Did he ever manage to resolve this? I've never even heard of this happening before, so guess it was a fluke occurrence a restart of Steam/the system should solve, but would be interested to hear how it went.

Near as I can tell it just fixed itself after re-loading fresh files. We had tried that before with no success, but eventually it worked. Probably had an old human_managers.dat file in there.
