How does this work?
New league I am in this season has 3 divisions in 1 conference of 4 teams each and 2 divisions in the other conference of 5 teams each. How will the playoff spots work? 3 division winners + 1 WC team for the one side and then on the other side 2 division winners and 2 WC's and everyone automatically makes the division series?
I know previously there were problems with everyone being thrown into a 1 game WC playoff regardless of division winner or not, I want to be VERY CLEAR that WILL NOT happen in this league... |

I personally don't care. I'm not even considering it an accomplishment if I won or not in this kind of league set up, It's like winning in spring training. As far as I'm concerned, these games don't even count.

I was in one a couple seasons ago. It was pretty terrible. Especially in Perfect where there is often a couple insanely good teams. Because of the limited schedule the top teams won like 75% of their games and the entire playoffs were set at the beginning of September.

They need to fill leagues from the top down. There's no reason leagues at the perfect level should be incomplete.

That is unfortunately really challenging. Trust me, we've run the numbers and tested several seeding algorithms. The way it is now is the only way the whole system is stable and predictable.

I find it hard to believe that it's hard to have the number of teams at each level be calculated by factors of 30 except the bronze level. |

I believe I'm in this league as well. The way it works is ... It doesn't.

That would definitely be the most logical if at all possible. I would think Markus would have thought of that but......

Maybe in 20, when we have worldwide rankings, they'll put the top 300 (just a guess) in Perfect, the next 1200 in Diamond, etc....each week, so that we don't have this issue. |

Yeah I guess it must be more complicated than we think or something. Seems like you should just be able to promote teams from Diamond until the amount in perfect is divisible by 30. Promote from Gold so Diamond is 30. . . etc. Then just make Bronze leagues with the rest.

Being facetious... Make ghost teams, take the average overall at each level and fill the ghost teams with those players to fill out the league ranks.

We asked how the playoffs would be handled in the original post of this thread. Again, we received no response from the developers, just like last season's 20 team league query.
Teams from one conference are playing teams in the other conference in the first round. Wildcard teams are receiving a bye. The TEAMS WITH THE BEST RECORD in each conference are playing each other in the DIVISION SERIES. Please see the attached screenshots. What is the explanation for this? ![]() ![]()

P410 playoffs are bizarre. Teams are seeded in the opposite conference. The two worst wild card teams are in a one-game series. The other two wild card teams are treated as division winners, and one of them gets the wild card game winner. Home field is not seeded according to record as far as I can tell, but that may shift. It's a mess.

You'd think that if they couldn't get the promotion/relegation situation resolved in terms of creating full leagues, at least they could make an effort to get the playoffs right.
