I fell behind in the Sub League Series 0-3 and game back to win the next 2 but that was all the fight my team had. My starter allowed 4 runs on HRs in the 6th game and we ended up losing it 5-4.
Diamond league is ahead for me so it may be some time before this team sees post season play again. |

River City stormed back, shutting the Hoggs out 5-0 to take Game 6, Mike Clevinger throwing 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. On the other side of the mound, Baez wasn't bad, giving up 2 runs in 7 innings, but his offense didn't turn up.
Now to face Sale again for Game 7. Should I put Dierker (1-1, 4.85 ERA, 4.35 FIP from 2 postseason starts), or Abbott (81% rested, 1-0, 1.13 ERA, 4.28 FIP from 1 postseason start), on the mound to face him?

Well, my birds just lost =(
So i'll give a quick review of each World Series game.... just repeat in case you missed my flood of posts.. this is my first ever trip to the post season - beta or public... going against the team with the best overall record during the regular season. I have faith we'll put it off, as I have a strong rotation and pen now... Game one coming in just a few minutes. |

Somehow, somehow, the Hoggs pulled it off and are travelling to the Silver Level Series.
Bottom of the 1st, Sale hit Aparicio, the first batter he faced. An out later Santo hit a 2-1 change-up down the leftfield line. It had just enough on it to clear the fence. That would be the Hogg's only scoring act of the game. It would be enough, Dierker throwing 6.1 innings of zero-ball, allowing 7 hits and 1 walk, while fanning 7. Bryce Harper got 1 back for River City in the 8th with a solo homer. Osuna came out for the 9th and gave up a leadoff single. He was yanked and replaced with Doolittle. He gave up a 1-out single to put the go-ahead run on 1B but then got two weak fly-outs to finish it. We will be playing the Greenville Jedi in the Championship.

World Series Game 2
Atlantic City Hi-Rollers - 15 runs off 19 hits Coastal Carolina Chanticleers - 3 runs off 7 hits WP - Steven Strasburg - 7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 8 K LP - Patrick Corbin Mike Lieberthal went 2/3, 2 HR, 3 RBIs, 2 BB Suarez added a 3 run pinch hit HR, Puig a 2 run HR Al Kaline 3/5, 3 runs Cravath 3/3, 1 run, 3 rbis Hi-Rollers take game two 15-3, and a 2-0 series lead. Giving the ball to Chris Sale (4-2, 3.75 era in regular season, 3-0 1.21 postseason) Late season addition tries to put me up 3, for now, I'm 2 games away from celebrating

Despite Paul Waner going 4-5 (his 3rd 4-hit game of the postseason), the Hoggs fell 4-3 in Game 1 of the Silver World Series.
Abbott took the mound rather than Corbin and took the loss, giving up 4 runs across 6 innings. Jim Palmer was the winning pitcher for the Jedi. Now, I have to go out, which is a bummer but can't be helped. Go Hoggs!

Congratulations on the win! If I understand the promotion rules correctly, I'll be the #6 of 6 teams promoted so I'll be in diamond again. Hopefully, it's not so brutal like it was the 1st time I was there when I lost 102 games with nearly the same team I have now.

The Hoggs bounced back to upend the Jedi 7-3 in Game 2. Santo, Williams and Mize all went deep. Corbin threw 6 innings for the win.

Greenville dominated Game 3 on their home turf, beating the Hoggs 8-2 on the back of a fine 7-inning performance from Zack Wheeler. Both teams had 8 hits but the Jedi strung theirs together better and showed better plate discipline.
The Jedi lead the series 2-1.

I'm in a bronze league, had the best record (109 wins), lost 3-1 in first round of playoffs. All three losses by one run. Oh well.
We'll still make silver right?
