What a draw!!!
In the heat of the PT Pennant race, a Challenge Mode Pack yields...a gem!
We all occasionally see cracks about bad packs—this was a great one! |

Congrats, my Robles has played over 600 games for me dating back to Bronze league.
.265/.328/.418 career slash line. +42.3 career ZR in CF, +29.0 career ZR in LF, and +13.2 career ZR in RF. |

Yeah, he's an excellent outfielder and gap hitter. Here's his rank among the more than 2000 cards I have in my tracking spreadsheet:
LF - 24th CF - 18th RF - 34th Gap - 42nd Gap vL - 44th Gap vR - 49th Also... Speed - 30th |

I need to start building a database for hitters. I have one for Starters and relievers. I need to work on a formula for tracking batters to see which ones are truly better. If I may ask, do you just use the main hitting categories (Contact, GAP, Power, Eye, Avoid K's) and just the defensive rating (not paying attention to things like arm, error, etc). I feel lost with trying to figure out an algorithm to put in for predictions for hitters. Any help would be appreciated.

Defense is super important and the defensive rating doesn't tell the whole story. A player could be perfectly suited for a given position but have a zero rating just from lack of experience. For example I moved Lorenzo Cain to LF on my team where he started with zero rating. But he is actually a perfect left fielder based on range, error & arm ratings. Once he was trained up his LF rating was like 98 or something. |

I will say that the record breaker Carew (82 OVR) is awesome in that park. Also, George Kell has hit 63-84 doubles a season for me. Last edited by zrog2000; 01-10-2019 at 05:44 PM. |

I understand how you track Gap etc. But how to choose an overall rank?

Are you talking about the first 3 numbers? Those are how his Position Ratings ranks. Very good outfield defender. Overall, he's not an amazing hitter though, but he's racking up doubles and triples when he does put it in play.

Just wondering if anybody has come up with a formula on how to group rank (Contact, GAP, Power, Eye, Avoid K's)?
I don't have the skills to do it.
