card sources

are all cards in the game entered via packs bought or are some thrown on the market by non playing teams.

seems hard to find the rules the govern the market place aspects of the game.

All cards originally come from packs people open. The auction house is from cards that are listed by players. Cards don't get taken away from inactive teams, nor will they be.

perhaps I have not expressed myself with clarity, what I want to understand is is all cards enter the game randomly as opposed to leaking cards on the board just to attract dollar purchses and bids, I think you get what I mean.

I knew what you meant, and same answer. I don't work for OOTP. You can choose to trust me or not, but I'm confident in my answer.

I don't know if it's specifically written anywhere that "we won't manipulate prices by randomly dropping rare cards". If your already skeptical why would you trust what they wrote anyway?

why - free market requires access to information, that is all I want. If "they" are collecting money, I would think that there might be some requirements which go along with it legally.

Why don't you send a private message to Markus? I am confident that he will tell you that the answer you've already been given is correct.

We don't seed cards on the auction house. All the cards are put out through packs.

I think they’d make more money on pack purchases with people trying to get specific cards than they would ever make by seeding the auctions.

Putting a card out there nets one purchase and done. Once the purchaser has the card they want, no more repeated business. If you had someone willing to carry on buying packs until they get the team they want, with the low odds of the packs, they would spend much much more.

At the end of the day, OOTP is a business. One that puts love and care into its product, yes, but the point of a business is to make money to either grow your business or reap the rewards of your efforts, time, investment, and ideas.

You can tell that these guys love their product enough not to put it in jeopardy by playing stupid games with their customers. They’ve built a brand over the last approximately 20 years by listening to their customers and constantly improving their product. So why would they destroy that credibility?
