After playing his last major league game in 1978 with the ChiSox, Willoughby was traded to the Cardinals on 10/23/78 for John Scott. He was in camp in 1979 with St. Louis, until being released as rosters began to be pared on March 30.

His name is spelled Jacquez. The Reds' organization got him in December of 1971. He was not on the Reds' spring roster in 1972. Found no evidence that he was a non-roster invitee in 1972 Reds' spring camp. On March 31, 1972, he was reported as being in the spring training camp of the Indianapolis Indians on the list of players obtained from other organizations, with no mention of his being sent down from the Reds. Was with Indianapolis at beginning of their 1972 season. Pictured with them, but not with Reds. Traded away from Reds in November of 1972.

Merkle, as part of your memorable trip to the files of the Topps Vault this past year, you had offered up a great assessment of various images. Much of what you had outlined back then has come to light. In reviewing my ongoing hit list, the Johnny Lewis, Ryerson, Scherman, and Schueler seem to still be in need. I'm now curious if I missed them or if they ever came out of hiding at all? Anyway thanks for all you do for this hobby.
