Hammerin Hank Aaron pitching?

No idea why but Aaron got thrown in there to walk a guy and get an out....seems REALLY odd.

By my count it was 11-2 at that point, so the manager decided to use up a position player on the mound instead of wasting a reliever in a blowout.

And Carrasco had thrown 173 pitches, which I didn't think was possible. What's up with that team's bullpen? I'm a little surprised a position player didn't come in to pitch even earlier.

I've got 5 guys in the bullpen. Really odd game for sure.

Generally, 5 relievers isn't enough for modern MLB, which PT simulates. The exception could be if all your pitchers, including your relievers, are deadball-era starters with stamina > 100. Are you sure your bullpen isn't entirely exhausted on a regular basis, and/or was this game near the end of a long stretch without an off-day? I'm just saying, you can't be giving the AI many good options if it decides to ride your starter for 173 pitches.

Well, my bullpen is:

AJ Minter
Chad Green
Sean Doolittle
Jeurys Familia
Patrck Corbin

I would have though the AI could have brought in Corbin who has good stamina but not really sure how tired they were. I should look at the games immediately before that.

Looks like the entire bullpen had pitched the game before in an extra inning game, although Corbin only threw 3 pitches.

I'm going to jump in on the "your bullpen was probably gassed" train here. You really should have at least 6 BP arms inc a starter in the LR role (and even that is on the low end of things)

I added Bob Turley to the pen as a long reliever.
