Feeder League System with No Draft?
Can someone please help me set up a feeder league system that does not incorporate a draft? So the players are signed as free agents. I have tried multiple ways to do this and cant get it to work. When I add feeder leagues and turn off the draft none of the players become free agents they just sit in limbo, never to be heard from again.
Does anyone on here use feeder leagues and not have a draft? Please help!!!!! |

I don't think you want feeder leagues for this. If you set up separate leagues with an age limit, the players should be released into the free agent pool once the player hits the appropriate age.
You might not even have to set up new leagues. If you go into each of your feeder leagues, IIRC there's a checkbox somewhere that says something like 'feeder for league blah blah blah'. If you uncheck it or leave the league blank, the league should become independent like what I'm mentioning above. |

Thank you for that advice, I am trying that in a new build. My only question is the players seem to be pretty bad (I made two college leagues to fill enough players) and at best they are 2 star guys. Any way to raise the talent of the players in those leagues?
Thank you again, I am trying to make a junior league system U20 and they are entered much like International amateur free agents |

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. I have a college feeder league of about 120 teams set up and feeding into a major league of 72 teams. Only a very small percentage (probably less than 5%) of my college players are making it into my MLB draft. Furthermore, I have a lot of players in my draft who are out of college, but not from my college league. So how do I get my college feeder league to produce more pro prospects, besides the obvious solution of editing a bunch the players individually?

Honestly I wouldn't ever even bother with feeder leagues. It really kills your speed. Doesn't really work right either.
Depending on league size you would need so many feeder teams to fully populate a draft each year. Basically more feeder teams then a Full OOTP universe. This is what kills sim speeds. And increases your universe size. Problem of speed when exporting and importing to new versions of OOTP. I rather have all he foreign leagues on then feeders. Especially when it comes to sim time. Back to the OP's question. Sounds like you want to setup Independent leagues and not feeder leagues. You can create them at any skill level you want. And you can say make them have to play 4 years before becoming a free agent. Even add a Age Restriction to keep them in whatever age bracket you want. |
