Coaching Staffs/Front Offices
1. It is routine for teams in real life to hire personnel from the other 29 teams to serve a role in their front office or on the field provided they are given a promotion in title (Zaidi from LA GM to SF Pres., managerial hires such as Baldelli and Montoyo). In OOTP, you can only hire new field staff and front office employees from the pool of unemployed coaches and executives. In the future could a team in OOTP make their new manager someone who is already employeed if they give them a better title or pay?
2. I feel like the real trends that have taken over current MLB dugouts and front offices are not reflected to the correct degree in OOTP. There are far too many conventional/old-school labeled coaches and GMs who run the teams across the league than there actually are in real life. For example, Turner Ward became a GM in my game. In no analytical world would Turner Ward and others like him be hired to run a team. 3. It seems that established major-league managers and executives when they become no longer employed by a big league club are too quick to jump to any vancant position across the universe of leagues in the game. Once Theo Epstein is done with the Cubs, he is not going to be the GM of the Tucson Saguaros of the PECOS league. Craig Counsell is not going to manage a club in the Frontier League. Most MLB personnel should not be accpeting these jobs and should just stay unemployed in the game. 4. Unrelated: StatCast stats would be awesome and the ability to tweak a pitcherÂ’s repitoire would be cool considering what the Astros have been able to do with Cole and Morton and what other clubs have been able to tweak with their pitchers. |

Second this. Coaching system is out of date and needs a revamp.

And may be broken by hiring former players, especially Hall-of-Famers, as coaches.

Totally agree with #1.
