Holy Schmoly

I'm running the max of 3 teams in PT. My 3rd team I just started a few minutes ago. My first two teams, out of all the packs that I've bought with PP, I managed to pull 1 silver card. Then my 3rd team went and pulled this after the first game:

Color me unimpressed with Kris Bryant. His individual ratings are all in the 60's, except for his 70 defense. Not sure how he gets a 94 overall. And his stats so far aren't helping justify his rating, either. Through 108 AB's, he's hitting .198 with 1 HR and 3 RBI. And Khris Davis has been almost useless, too. Hitting .174 with 3 HR's. Strange, because there's almost no whales in this league. Sounds like I need to auction off Bryant when we start over Monday.

If you are lucky, you will get a few hundred points over the 4k auto-sell amount. There are usually several of his card for sale.

I also think that his overall rating is too high - in PT and in real life.

On a side note, how do you make more than 1 team?

You need to register under a different user name and a different email address for each team.

I do not get the OVR of Bryant, Bregman and Turner, especially Turner. Bregman and Turner did very little for me in beta. Well Turner did make 2 errors in the 9th inning of game 5 of the DS to ruin a season for me.

Devs have stated that some cards (mostly historical) are intentionally underrated. Is it possible they overrate some as well?

I also think cards like the ones mentioned here are rated higher because they are solid at many things while being exceptional at nothing. There can be value in that, but more often people (including myself) prefer specialists.

Turner has done well for me (so far)… .361 with a 1.008 OPS in 467 PA. As for Bryant, I'm surprised anyone spends much of anything for him. His "sell now" amount is more than anyone should probably bid on him. Haven't found a team where he's done much though there are probably some I would think, just not many.

I think his 94 overall comes from having defensive ratings at 3-4 positions.

That Khris Davis card is also pretty slick.

He had some good numbers during my Entry Pool before I had to remove him from the roster to make room for better players.

No, I think it's more that he's just good at everything. It just doesn't "look" as good because there's a lot of great 3B in MLB right now (Chapman, Donaldson, Turner, Arenado, Rendon, Ramirez, Bregman, etc...), so there end up being a lot of those diamond players on the market. Rendon and Ramirez are going for more because of their 2B skills, Bregman maybe as well because of his SS skills. And that's not counting Machado, who probably would be in that group too as a 3B if he wasn't also a SS (and ended up just missing the Diamond cutoff).

I mean, of the MLB Live cards, Yelich and Judge are the only Diamond outfielders (Trout and Betts are perfects), and then at 1B you have Goldschmidt and Freeman, and that's it for batters, right? So about half of the Diamond batters are 3B, which makes each of them feel much less special. If I miss out on Bryant, there's still a half dozen other superstars who I'm happy to end up with instead.
