Why are some forums closed?

I understand some can be offensive but there are times some users should be allowed to make opinions whether they are good or bad. Not sure why some discussions are closed just because they might contain bad news? Let's not be like some news that reports just their opinion and ignores and deletes the facts.

Just saying.

The problem is often moreso the repetitive nature of the thread rather than the topic.

This is not always sufficiently clarified unfortunately.

An underwhelming forum search function doesn't help this issue, but an improvement would also not be a sufficient solution.

We appreciate any and all feedback, good and bad, and listen to all suggestions as long as they are posted within the rules of the forum and are kept within one thread. When we see 5+ threads all covering the same topic/issue, we take action.

We are not closing threads as a way to hide users opinions, we are simply doing it to keep the forums a clean, respectable and an easy to navigate experience for all who visit
