Team is AWFUL,... And I am LOVING it!!!

1-2 in first three games. Watched highlights of each game. While we are currently terrible, already I have ideas for slow and steady improvement. It is extremely early, but I can tell that I am already hooked!

Welcome to my new obsession!!

I've decided to see how it goes with an all-bronze team. I'm not going to spend tons of money to compete at high levels, so this makes it an interesting challenge.

The hardest part is waiting for the next sim.

I tried that in beta with all iron cards, I got shellacked every game. Good luck!

You know, I have to say, for all the whining going on about PT and spending money the bigger picture is lost. Many people either cannot or will not spend money for PT but let us not lose sight of the fact that Markus has made PT accessible to everyone for FREE. (yes, i know you do have to buy the ootp game)

All the people spending money on PT are subsidizing those who are playing for free! And for those not spending money, they realize the challenge they are in for but who doesn't love a challenge? Earned and benevolent PP will allow anyone to slowly build a very solid team.

For the massive effort it must have taken Markus & crew to make such a polished product and make it so accessible for FREE, they don't deserve so much of the flack regarding the money issue.

Markus has been amazingly accessible through all the years of OOTP, it really is phenomenal. My only concern is that some corporate borg will one day make him very rich and OOTP gets gobbled up....Markus IS OOTP and it wouldn't be the same without him.

Almost through our entry pool season and we are still just above .500,... which I will claim as a victory in and of itself. Having a ball replaying the highlights of our games. Have only added a couple of packs during the season adding really only one player, but he allowed me to mix things up a bit.

All-in-all, this for me is a fantastic game mode. Can't wait for the upcoming rookie league!!

Bring It!!!

My team started 3-11, then I got to above .500, and now I'm 10 below .500 because I've lost 13 in a row
this game gave me hope then killed it

I'm on the opposite spectrum, as my team stinks and I'm having no fun at all. My entry pool is full of teams that score hundreds more runs then us lower tier teams. The top teams are full of nothing but gold and diamond players, while I've barely gotten enough points to get my third pack yesterday. Beta was great as my team was successful in the only week they played. But now that the full season has started, that shine has been rubbed away. If next week plays out the same way, by being dominated by super teams, then I'm done with this mode.

Unfortunately, next week may be a little bit more of the same. This week was just a preseason with nothing attached to it. Next week is really the start and after that we will see movement of the "Gold" teams moving up the ranks and then the other leagues will slowly become more balanced.

While I can understand the frustration, I knew going into this that to start off I would not spend extra real money as I wanted the challenge. It was going to be tough sledding for a while. If it is not in you to go through this part of the mode then maybe give it a few weeks and come back then when things have thinned out a bit.

No matter what, best of luck to you and your team!

It will probably take about 3 weeks if it plays out like Beta for you to feel competitive. Meanwhile, you can learn your team and and get comfortable with your strategy. You will be earning some achievements and buying packs along as you go. Improve your team the best you can with your play style and be ready for when the teams you do not want to play have moved up. Every week their competition will toughen as the advance together and you will be in a competitive atmosphere. Then use your GM skill to try to win

i have become a big fan of 8 game losing streaks. just broke another one of those and got my 100 points, plus a bonus 30 for getting 6 hits in an inning.

i cordially request fewer 3 and 4 game losing streaks in favor of the grander 8-10 game losing streaks.

I want to highlight this - this is completely anecdotal, but I feel like getting 3-5 packs per week is pretty average. You might be just a bit on the low end, considering this week included all the "First Time" achievements, but if your complaint is only getting 3000 points a week, you're probably gonna be sorely disappointed come next week, no matter who you're matched up against.

Yep, Markus has said that the game is balanced for the average team to earn a pack every few days, so 2-3 per week.

With 3000 points, you can play the lottery to the tune of 3 standard packs.

Or you could venture into the Auction House to make incremental improvements to your team by targeting specific players that will help you become more competitive in terms of both wins and points.

3000 points is 6 silver players at 500 points, and many will go for less, allowing someone to stretch their points farther.
