Should these default settings be changed?

Should these current default settings be changed in light of the way MLB has become in the modern day?

traditional lineups changed to sabermetric?

annual top prospects list changed to dynamic?

any other potential ones people can think of?

In other words...do you feel it's more reflective of modern day baseball to use dynamic prospect lists and/or saber lineups over traditional?

dynamic is more reflective, because scouts don't stick to whatever tehy thought on January 1st or whatever specific date used for the list.

that is, however, more resource intensive. it has to look over X-thousand minor league players to regenerate that list each time it computes it... dynamic = weekly? daily? etc.

i don't use these lists, so i leave them on static. you may feel differently. i receive no benefit from it. so, i don't want any pc resources wasted on it, therefore wasting my time for something i won't even use everytime i hit the "sim" button.

i don't know if the majority of current real mlb uses sabermetric lineups... let alone what ootp defines as a sabermetric lineup.

flip a coin, it truly has such a small effect it won't matter much. i'd assume the league is still either traditional or employing "sabermetrics" poorly, lol. (really not fond of that lable and how it is used -- it encompasses bad math, poorly applied math and bad ideas too mixed in with a few good ideas and concepts. the trash outwieghs the good and that's why some misunderstand the whole point of more rational and logical assessments of reality than a human eye/brain can provide)

I really hate the way the overall ratings work (inconsistencies with stars and/or 20-80 scale) so I don't use them. You can imagine I depend a bit more on the prospect lists. Therefore I am thinking dynamic is better for me, but not all together realistic either.

It would be nice if we had the option to update these lists every month or couple of months as opposed to just annual or dynamic. I think that would be the most realistic way to implement it.

As far as saber...I do think it helps the AI a bit to look more closely at R/L scouting splits rather than just the overall scouting grade for any given component rating.
