Messages "Read" Remaining "Unread"

I have many messages that are still flagged as Unread after I select "Read all messages".
Is anyone else seeing this? I have scrolled the entire list and there are no messages that are marked as Unread in the list, just at the top of the screen.
The image is after I clicked "Read all messages".

are you expecting the messages to be deleted after being read ???

I am expecting them to be "read" and the red circle with the "72" in it to go away.
