Exclamation Promotion / relegation tomorrow (Nov 12)

Update, 9:08 AM ET:
The servers with the new league files (after promotion / demotion) are now starting back up. Within 30 minutes all servers should be running again and all new league files available for download!

Update:

Hey guys,

unfortunately, right at the time when the playoffs were about to end, our provider for the league file server had a technical issue, which resulted in the league files not being available. That was exceptionally bad timing, and we hope this will never happen again. It's good we're still in beta

Anyway, we are now preparing the promotion to the next level. The new league files will be available in an hour or two.

In the future, after playoffs have finished, you will be able to check out the file with the final results until two hours before the new season starts on Monday (so about until 8 AM ET). After that, the server will prepare the new leagues and the next league download will be the new one. We will add the ability to access finished leagues (in order to check stats etc.) in a future update or in OOTP 20, depending on how difficult this is. We'll keep you posted

Cheers,
Markus

Original post:

Hi everybody,

so, our first season will come to an end later tonight, that means the first round of promotion & relegation will start (at around 3 AM ET / midnight PT). Since all teams are still in the Rookie Leagues, there will be no teams relegated, and a greater number of teams than usual will be promoted.

So, tomorrow the top 16 teams per league, based on making the playoffs + winning PCT. Those 10 teams which made the playoffs get picked first, and then the best 6 (winning PCT) who missed the playoffs will join them.

In later season, the number of teams being promoted will shrink, and once we have a solid system with all levels filled, we'll have about 4 promotions and 4 demotions per league per season. At least that's the plan right now

OK, good luck for the playoffs!

By the way, things like the manager history, player career stats, player awards and player position ratings will carry over from one year to the next. Unless we screwed something up and the code is buggy, we'll find out tomorrow

Cheers,
Markus

Will teams that are promoted from the same league end up in the same league, so some of the rivalries are maintained?

It's your own fault for sweeping me in that final series in September.

Looks like may go up as one of the extra 6 teams. I wasn't exactly stellar with a .512 winning PCT but that looks like that was good enough to tie with another team to grab the 5th and 6th spots.

We will see how my one gold team fares at the next level. I am a little scared because the main reason I did as well as I did is because I had the worst team in the league in my division so I got some easy wins.

The BruTown Bru's will advance! (I think, if I understand the criteria. )

This is quite remarkable. I actually care about the Bru's.

Ahhhhhh, So the Oakland Rivercats and I will keep banging heads. They are an excellently manged team that came in second to me and actually dominated my team thru the season. But, I got them back this morning in playoffs. They were the team I feared most in a short series. I look forward to the competition again if it works out..

If we make it to the World Series and then go to bed will we be able to watch it on Monday or will the new season erase it?

So do we keep the same players when our team is regulated? I thought I saw somewhere that the teams' rosters were to be wiped clean after this stage.

So, if I have, say, Mookie Betts on my roster in Rookie League, he'll stay there after this (Nov. 12) regulation?

No wipe until the beta is over, closer to the end of the month.

Yes, the rosters will not be wiped until the beta period ends.

I'm in the same boat. The team that went 25 consecutive games last month without a single achievement will be facing even tougher teams and better pitching.
Not to mention that most, if not all of the whales will promoted with us.

Does the new season start at ~10am EST? In other words, will there be some time to modify ballpark factors, change uniforms, win auctions, reconstruct pitching rotations, etc. before opening day?

Dang it. I'm like the third team after playoffs to be promoted, but I didn't really want to be
