Interesting

In my league I drafted Shoeless Joe Jackson to the White Sox so he can redeem himself from that dreadful experience. Seems he did not really want to go to college.

He should have stayed in college. He is out for the season after 2 games with a torn labrum.

nowadays you can get in even if illiterate -- as long as you can play a sport well or maybe some artistic stuff too.

'artists' have lower admission standards just like athletes. a big joke, imo. the whole point is to be an institution of higher education, not a minor league sports affiliate for 3 or 4 major sports, depending on how you count.

i've seen athletes at even a tiny college get special treatment. that's why they are mostly comm majors, phys ed, and liberal arts majors. at least with one of those you can get a steady job.. although the pay for a teach doesn't warrant the expense of college.

you are actually make less money than you would working a job that doesn't require a 4-year education expense -- even if you make abit more per year... ~50k to start you life is hundreds of K's by the time you retire (TVM).

the education system in america is a bit of a joke for the last generation or so and getting easier. it's not just relegated to k-12. i went back after my mba for something and there was extra credit in some of the classes, lol... in college. that shouldn't even be allowed in high school. bunch of babies here.

is that a flat-earther? LoL

oh, and the moon landing is fake (mlb player -- everrett or something? he was good for a few year stretch)

i don't think they are "dumb"... well the flat-earthers definitely are dumb... but in a more general sense... i don't think pro athletes are any dumber than average. i'd bet it's a fairly normal distribution compared to entire population, which is fat at the bottom and slim at the top. like most things that matter in life.
