BULLPEN MANAGEMENT:
There have been advances in the bullpen management but, I would like to see that part of the game improve even further to get more into specific situations during a game similar to what SOMBB uses with their bullpen logic. This is a key part of the strategy of baseball and losing a playoff game because the wrong RP was brought into the game does suck for those that don't manage every play of every game and simulate results. |

I'd like to see some additional "strategy" options related to bullpen use. Specifically, something like rest pitcher x days if he threw 30 pitches the day before or 60 pitches over 2 days...or do not use if pitched 2 consecutive days or something along those lines.

The AI has a bad habit of bringing relievers in for one batter, replacing them even though no platoon advantage is gained and even if the one batter did not reach base. This results in tired bullpens and leads to more bad bullpen decisions.

+1 for better bullpen management. I'd like to be able to manage the bullpen based on who the starter is. It seems like pitch counts don't do the whole job.

Another +1 for bullpen management. And agree with what Orcin said. Relievers are sometimes given way too quick of a hook even when they are doing well.
Also the hook should be more based on the score. If you're up or down 10 runs, there is no need to micromanage. Throw out the mopup reliever and let him throw a few innings even if he lets up a few runs. |
