Game running very slowly, any ideas?
Game running very slowly in terms of simulating games, I have tried restarting my computer and the game, and neither helped. The game was simulating pretty quickly at the beginning of the year, but 70 or so games it it started taking 15-30 seconds to finish a day. Anyone have anything that might help?

It could relate to the number of leagues you have in game, how many years you've played in the game, etc. My game starts simming slow once I've simmed so many years.
Of course I've also had the problem be low RAM with past versions of the game and past computers. Is the sim speed drastically slower than it has ever been for you? Or are you a recent player and you haven't simmed a lot yet? Sent from my LGLS755 using Tapatalk |

One potential culprit is anti-virus. If you have an active anti-virus scanner, it may be scanning every file that appears in the OOTP directories. Since OOTP generates a TON of HTML and .txt files, that can really slow things down.
Consider looking into whether you can configure your antivirus to exclude the OOTP folders from the regular scans.

look into turning some things to "on demand" or create less stuff per game.
e.g. do you ever look over box scores of minor league teams? if no, you don't need to create such things. baseball cards -- create on demand face pics -- create on demand prospect list -- 1 time a year vs continual (less effort, but may not like that it isn't updated constantly?) i'd look into the box scores area settings... not limited to box scores etc. remember more than 1 league too.. level of statistical detail for minor leagues? reduce to low etc. independent or foreign leagues? maybe? i do some other things that are abit more radical. i turn off mil playoffs.. i simply don't care what happens, that is just an opinion. apply yours to various things. err on the side of keeping stuff... any hint of you going near it, you likely want it available. (on demand excluded, still best option if possible for many things) i hesitate to say lok at FA pool... 5-10k isn't unusual nor will it cause any significant problems. your league has 30*25 active players.. it has to load 750 players, not 12k including FA pool. that only minimally affects initial load time or loading that FA list in game etc. if oyu see 50k or something, maybe do some pruning, look into player creation #'s and tone them down if necessary. I'm leaning more towards having something on in the game that is slowing it down due to current hardware. Then again its windows so you may be right. |

From what I've seen, disabling baseball cards does a lot to help speed up sim time.
