Won my first World series

Been playing for about a month or two and dabbled with a few different teams to learn the ropes of the game. 2nd year with the Mets made playoffs played every single playoff game and won it all. 3rd year I have the best record and the #1 Seed. Hoping to go back to back! Loving the game!

How many of you have been able to go back to back?

I'm attempting to go back to back in my fictional league right now. I just clinched the division on 9/17/2002 but we don't have the best record in all of baseball like we did last season.

I hope you successfully repeat!

I've done it once, but I usually expand the league and take an expansion team.

I started a new game a couple months ago with the Quickstart as the Indians and I have no idea how I have done it, but I won the World Series in 2018, 2019 and 2020! Yep, three-peat! If that were to happen in real life, Cleveland would melt down

The 2018 season I simmed through and most of the year and made all the real trades for all teams, and then took over just the GM of the Indians when the playoffs started and have done only that ever since. I have been lucky that the AL Central has the Tigers and Royals in rebuild mode and the White Sox and Twins have been hovering around .500 the last two seasons, but 2021 looks like the White Sox are going to take that next step and my run as the beast of the Central will probably end since I am losing Carlos Carrasco to free agency (he wants $30 mil per) and Kluber has fallen off due to some injuries. I still have a great starting rotation and solid bullpen, but my lineup (especially OF) is not as good as it once was and my best OF prospects are still a couple of years away. Will have to see how the season goes before I decide whether to blow it up and start the rebuild.

it's more often i win the ws than lose it.

i have a 3-decades long system of handling sports sim games. wow, kinda sad as i type that out... really have to quit playing video games, lol. ootp is one of the last i'll play for sure.

a long streak isn't unusual. losing a sure thing happens too. just lost with a 139win team to a 93win team in WS... 2 seasons ago now. that 93-win team also ousted a 120-win team (vegas, i pipeline to one/two teams after i get bored with a league to ensure a strong opponent at least occasionally. vegas and mets at moment)

vegas got their revenge over the currently 'lesser' mets team the following playoffs, and then i swept vegas. i did go back-to-back after that. i win more often when i don't help a couple teams. but beating a ~120win or at least a 100+ win team feels better.

Yeah, me too, depending on what league I play. I have a fictional league that started in 1901 with OOTP 6.0 back in 2004 and I'm in 1969 now. Play out all my teams games. We all lost history when OOTP 2006 came out with the new format so my managerial history only goes back to 1927. I don't remember ho many I won 1901 - 1927. Love this game and the new 3D mode. Adds so much to the game.

My repeat quest failed. The Atlanta Pilots swept their Best of 3 Wild Card series, then they proceeded to beat me 3 games to 2 in the ELDS. They went on to win the World Series. I have to say they deserved it because they played more playoff games than any other team and won it all.
