Contract negotiation bug in historical mode?

Currently playing historical mode as the 95/96 Chicago Blackhawks. Trying to sign Keith Carney to a contract extension.

Proceeds to meet his demands.

Is OK with salary, but wants two more years. (Does he mean four years in total? Anyway, it shouldn't be an issue since i pressed "Meet demands".) I offer him two years. Submits offer.

In next days news it says Keith Carney declined my 1-year offer worth $166,900... (???)

If you still have the save and it's not too far along, I think we'll need to have a look at exactly what happened. If he'd really wanted two more years, it should have filled that in when you met demands, so something's getting mismatched there. Uploading instructions are here.

I'll see what I can do. Currently running the game on linux through steam play (compatibility layer for windows games) and I can't seem to locate the saved_game file.

To be cleearer about the issue, the contract bug happened when the players themselves asked for a contract renewal. It seemed to work fine when I initiated the contract talks.

Ah, that does help, we may be able to narrow it down from that.
