Regarding Major League Roster after the post season.
Do I have to send down players on the ML Roster prior to spring training between seasons, or can I keep the september callups on the roster until the start of that following regular season?
Wondering about this as clearly it would cause a morale drop for players by sending them down to AAA, though taking advantage of having that year's option active seems like a good idea to use. |

You can keep your entire 40-man roster on the Active Roster during the offseason. (I generally send everyone up once the playoffs are done, including the players I didn't call up at the time of Roster Expansion - I don't want to end up using minor league options by accident.) The 25 player limit only applies in the five months between Opening Day and Roster Expansion.
I do believe that your entire 40-man roster - no matter where the players are - will be automatically added to the Spring Training Roster, and that no minor league options are used before that point - so I'm not sure there really is a way to screw something up.
