two way players?

I was just looking around my organization and I have at least 3 players that are playing 2 ways, pitcher and a hitter. I had one of my young pitchers that I'm grooming to be my next closer. My AAA team is 20 games in and I noticed this closer had no pitching stats. I went and looked and I see he was playing 1b. He has no business being a positional player over what his possible upside is as a closer. Like I said, I have come across 2 other players that are pitchers who are playing other positions. Why? Is this a new setting for 19 that I didn't know about? Is the only way to get this to stop by clicking the lock player button?

Thanks

Unclick the use as a 2-way player option in strategy

ts gotten better with updates, but I feel likethe higher the level of play, the more elite a player at both ways have to be in order for the AI to use them as such. I personally dont want the feature to be off but some of these scrubs dont have no business pitching and hitting at the MLB level.

An option to have your minor league teams not use players as two-way would be good, or a listing of two-way players in one of the rosters windows (like how untouchable/unwanted/dfa/etc are their own section) would be a good way to help crack down on it I figure.

Kind of had a similar thing recently and asked a question. One of the devs answered my questions in the thread linked below. Two way works well for SP that plays a position but the AI has major issues with RP. The only real way to develop someone as a RP and a batter is to manually move them out of the pen to the lineup and vise versa for a week or two at a time.
