Anyone in Bangor/Orono/University of Maine area?

Wondering if I'm alone out here.

I attended UMO a long time ago! ('69-'72) I use the word "attended" very loosely.

You may be; probably not, though. Nice state, one of my favorites.

If you think I'm blowing smoke, you're wrong. In my fictional MLB leagues, I regularly replace the Toronto Blue Jays (with all due respect to their fans here) with the Maine Black Bears, based in Bangor or Portland.

You do what? Off the Christmas card list you go. Blue Jays gonna rise again...You'll see.

Seriously? You couldn't go with a team that's actually having issues in its market? Currently 5th in AL attendance despite back-to-back craptacular seasons. I'ma hunt you down Bru. I'ma hunt you down.

(It's your game, play it your way)

Now, don't go all Canadian on me, please! I just have a bit of an OCD about having all American teams except for one, just one, with a Maple Leaf flag sticking out. (Plus, I do like Maine.)

It may appease you a bit that - prior to my participation in this thread, not as a result of it - I went the other way with my latest league (which I am digging a lot, after that dreary nonsense of the Dead Ball Era). Here, I have TWO Canadian teams!

Can you quickly see which one bit the dust in favor of Montreal?

Bring the boys back home I say. I loved the late seventies/early eighties Expos teams, and the early nineties ones were great too. It's a shame because that franchise was well supported for a while, but a lot of circumstances beyond their control led to their demise. With the change in mayors, I'm not sure they're going to see a team ...For now...but hopefully Nos Amours will return in time.
