Worst Schedule to start a seaon

This has to be the worst schedule to start the season.

I have never seen this before. Oh well on the road we play.

I just hope that the city of Portland doesn't forget that they have a baseball team. :-)

Geez! Instead of being able to utilize a 4-man rotation for April, you're going to need to use a 6-man rotation!

The schedule generator is one of the things that has always kept me away from getting into fictional with OOTP. I like the idea, but there is something that always tugs me into “is this realistic”. You end up with Saturdays off, they’ll have, say, the Giants play 2 in Miami, 3 at home, then 3 in DC, then 3 in DEN, then 3 in NY, then go home. I know there is probably a limit to what the algorithm can do, but I literally do hate the fictional schedules. If and when I retire, I am going to take the time to build a better algorithm for Markus and submit it.

There's no reason to rely upon the OOTP schedule generator. You can find any kind of schedule to suit your needs right here, or else you can submit a request in the schedule mods sub-forum.

Looks like a nineteenth-century schedule. The 1895 Phillies, for instance, had only three home games in their first twenty-five. You can look it up.

i like away heavy to start... means you finish strong with a ton of home games.

more logically and relative to ootp, you should prefer a heavy home schedule to start. it directly influences the revenue potential of your gate, because there is a slight benefit to playing at home (mathematically in the video game for sure, not just because it's likely in life too).

years i have a big win streak/win pct% to start, i can increase ticket price earlier in year than normal. if i continue to play ~normal/average for my team, the ticket price remains higher than normal for that time of year, because it dominos... more games with higher ticket prices and same attendance = more money!@!@! a 20game win streat to start is more profitable than a 20game win streak to end -- all other factors remaining the same..

There is no such thing like a bad schedule - just a bad attitude!

...

Although this is actually... this is some gross... this schedule is something not even its mother could love...!

You can change ticket prices during the season? I thought that was locked except during the offseason.

I play fictional and have zero schedule issues. Perhaps you should search for GMO and the hundreds maybe thousands of schedules available through him and many other posters.

I have 2 teams start the season( most of the time) with 5 straight double headers.

I also play the beginning of the season with expanded rosters.

Personally, I don't mind the random schedules. I just didn't realize that they could be to this extreme. I make up most of the home schedule in May. The remaining months are more normal split between home and away.

I just told myself that we are currently working on stadium improvements. :-)

LOL I didn't even notice all the away games. I was just thinking about it in terms of having to play 17 games over 16 days in April.

gmo was certainly a legend in the mods community, and he made a ton of schedules, but he hasn't posted in these forums in nearly nine years. You'd be better advised to go straight to the updated schedule list.

thinking with a start like that should be a nice home stand coming up too. Although you can reshuffle that schedule or go to Schedule mod in OOTP19 sub forums
