Tiebreakers

What is the default method the game determines tiebreakers for a fictional league? I realize we can schedule our own playoff brackets and therefore determine how a tiebreakers for playoffs are done. But I am asking because on the team history page it my team is finished in 6th place with the same record as the team in 5th place. Basically, just wondering if there is any rhyme or reason to how teams are ranked on the standings page, which ultimately gets transferred to team history.

If not, then perhaps a logical default could be used for the next version - like run differential (even alphabetical order would be better than a random rank).

One of the spokesmen for OOTP explained what the program uses to determine tiebreakers this way... "Basically head to head first, followed by division record, league record, and then I think it goes into runs (I forget if it's straight run differential, or run differential in head to head games, or something like that)."
