Import Export dividing stats possible?
Odd question, complex...but maybe I can be helped.
Would like to take the import/export files for batting, fielding and pitching and divide all the values. I want to try playing the mlb quickstart with a much fewer number of games, such as 120 game seasons. That is around a 30% drop in game totals, so I would like to take all the previous player stats in the import/export files and divide them by 30%. Yes I know the "player id numbers" would then also get divided on a mass divide, but I will only keep key players so it wont take long to replace the player numbers as needed. All the stats line is what I would like to drop by 30% Suggestions as a way to do that. There must be a simple way to ask the computer to take all the numbers in the file and drop by 30%. Anyone know how to do it easily without trying to go line by line, value by value? Thanks if anyone knows |

If you're using Excel, you can apply your formula to only the columns you want (the stat columns, not any that reference age, height, weight, playerID etc --- though that would be a great way to go on a quick diet, LOL).
This isn't even really necessary, though I can see why you would want to give the league & players a history reflecting the "historical" shorter season. |
