For those of you who didn't know, the Buies Creek Astros are folding after this season, and a new team in Fayetteville will begin play in 2019.

There is a "name the team" contest, and the five finalists are:

Woodpeckers, Wood Dogs, Fatbacks, Fly Traps and Jumpers.

Please, people of Fayetteville, I IMPLORE you to let sanity reign and NOT pick Fatbacks or Fly Traps!

don't think the WooSox logo is official but looks cool nonetheless. The cap I've seen a few times already so maybe that's official?

The only place Fly Traps would be acceptable, is if the city was named Venus..

Class AAA

New York Mets purchased the Syracuse franchise, leaving the Nationals without a AAA affiliate as of this writing.

The Las Vegas 51s are moving to Syracuse to fill the hole. Syracuse Mets, perhaps? Las Vegas has a new stadium ready for 2019, retiring the aging Cashman Field for minor league baseball.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox relocate to San Antonio and acquire the Missions name, effectively elevating the Missions to AAA status.

Class AA
=======

The San Antonio Missions relocate to Amarillo.

Class Advanced A
==============

The Buies Creek Astros relocate to Fayetteville, NC

Class Advanced Rookie
==================

Helena Brewers relocate to Colorado Springs.

So where could the Nationals AAA team end up?

I don't think that it will be in Las Vegas as the travel costs of shuttling players back and forth was the reason the Mets bought the Syracuse franchise.

I think they'll want it somewhat close to DC. Virginia or Maryland, perhaps?
