Hide Injury Rating
Does anyone do this? I've been debating doing this and forcing myself to make my own judgements based on a players injury history, but idk if its really that practical or not.

I totally hide it. I find when I display it it occupies too much space in my decision-making. There are "injury prone" players in OOTP who never get injured as a pro, and "normal" players who constantly have nagging injuries.

I do it, too. Although I miss seeing the "wrecked" guys.
I like the alternative of clicking on their injury history tab and drawing my own conclusions. |

Yes, I hide the rating and you can still check the injury log which will give you a big clue. It's just unrealistic to quantitate how injury prone a player will be. It seems like cheating because I would always avoid injury prone pitchers while the AI teams will be stuck with them. Also, I feel a bit guilty trading one of these pitchers knowing that he's never going to fill his potential and getting far too much in return.
I wish injury proneness would be redone because those who have a high injury prone rating get far too many injuries and those with a low rating get far too few. It needs to be more balanced. |

IRL every team knows exactly what players injury history is and they make logical decisions on what risks to take.

Besides, they DO change. I had a stud pitcher who was "Normal". Had an injury, out 3 months. Next season, out 6 months. Came back with 2 weeks left in the season, had several strong outings, then got injured in first playoff game. When he came off the DL, he was "Fragile". |

To me seeing the injury rating makes me feel like I'm cheating. I always have it turned off.

I almost always hide it. Sometimes I forget.
Suggestion Box, Markus, Lucas, et al: how about making some of those side-panel settings when creating a league something we could have in the preferences window so we don't have to select it all the time? I'm not sure about others, but when creating a league, I almost always use the same old settings.

I hide it, mostly so I don't see a 'fragile' 18-year-old in the draft.

Interesting thread and have now changed my setting. And does everyone have the high(realistic) injury setting?

Always have played with INJURIES hidden. Some excellent comments already made on why.

If the issue is that you're trying to help the AI, there are many ways to do this. One example is to turn ratings down to a 1-10 scale. This'll force you into a deeper dive when doing player eval, and put the AI on a much more level footing when doing so. Just one of a few little things that can be done to aid the AI without compromising the realism factor. |
