I am in early May 2019 and Miami just fired their GM (Hill) and Manager (Mattingly). They are 8-20 after finishing 66-96 last season. Here's their situation. Pretty grim.

My latest challenge is attempting to play as the Saitama Seibu Lions since I've never attempted to play as both GM and manager of a team in a league with foreigner limits. Additionally, I feel this save will be an interesting way for me to learn the posting system and also how OOTP handles it.

The more I think about this, I have to concede that you are right. The point of the game is to have fun, and I am finding that I need to be challenged to have fun. As you say, the game simply isn't challenging now unless you impose restrictions on yourself.

So I guess I will have to "go on a diet" and push away that piece of cake until such time as the AI loopholes can be closed. I am working on my own set of house rules to try in my next league. Yours are a good start.

If you want a challenge change the default settings and make it as difficult as you desire

You can’t do that on Challenge Mode. And besides, the same exploits are available on Very Hard trading.
