Best 3-4 hitter combo ever?

I signed ruth to a 10 year extension after the first year, and Hornsby won the triple crown the year before i signed him so I belive he is the highest paid player in the game. He also had a 43 game hitting streak going into the world series this year

i'm not that familiar with that time period, but not a whole lot of bombers eh? hornsby is awesome player, but no one else with similar contact and 80+ power?

i'm not a fan of such a high eye rating in ootp on a slugger. it really reduces their damage over teh course of a season. take a similar quality player with a lower eye and they hit 10 more hr and 20 more rbi etc, and score roughly the same. in my stats environemnt, i don't like anything over a ~70/100 eye on my sluggers. i don't want 100-130bb/year from them. i'd rather take 50 or so of those and take the AB + typical results from a non-walk.

in real life it doesn't really work that way, but in the video game it really does. too high of an eye makes a 3-4 guy less productive, overall. i'm liking that type of bomber with excessive walks as the #2 more and more if they can at lest be middle of the road baserunning speed/ability. it's a bit more volatile year-to-year but they seem to get a similar average rbi as 3 or 4 in order over time. i was surprised when i tried it with a recent player.

Yea some stats sort of overide others in the game. prior to Ruth breaking it the previous single season home run record was 27 and ruth already has the all time record of homeruns with about 150

I tend to think this means the wrong player is hitting 5th. I like big time gap players hitting 5th. I have had 100+ RBI seasons out of a few 5 hole because they hit for contact and extra bases. There were regularly runners on base or in scoring position due to excessive OBP in the 3 and 4 holes.

I actually drafted gehrig in this save and is playing better than ruth, might win mvp
