Double switches

I feel like the AI doesn't handle these very well. Like it shouldn't be standard to be executing double switches when you bring your closer in, especially if it means weakening your defense. There's almost never a reason to plan your lineup in such a way as to where you expect to get more than one inning of relief out of your closer unless you are bringing them in prior to the 9th inning. So why is the AI using double switches when bringing the closer in to start the 9th or to start the bottom half of an extra inning game where you lead?

Only reason I can think of is if they have their defense substitution filled out and they are doing a def sub and want a new pitcher so are just doing a double switch instead.

But sounds like the AI you speak of is not acting normal

It is stuff like this that just drives me nuts. How does this even get programmed in? It is so out of character for a double switch to be used this way by a MLB manager. To make matters worse, I had benched McCutchen specifically because he has a DTD injury affecting his throwing arm. I didn't bench him in the strategy option though because I wanted him available as a pinch hitter.

This specific scenario was supposed to be fixed in OOTP 19. Not sure why it happened to you.

Yeah, this is a general problem that I've had in every baseball sim when using a non-DH league. AI's don't look ahead. I've seen the game remove a 2-hole hitter, who was really good all-around, to bring in a usually one inning reliever and gain two whopping spots in the order.

I wish there was a control for double switch frequency in league settings.
