How to Change Rest Status
I brought a catcher up from the minors for the September roster expansion. Apparently, the A/I used him to death in the minors (even though there were 2 other catchers) and his rest status is 0. So I let him rest for 5 days at the major league level. When I checked his rest status again it was still 0. Is there a way to change that status? I tried the editor but there's no field for rest status.

did he pinch hit?
no matter what you do, after 2 days off every catcher will be 100% (at least with current year default settings) at the top of screen click name of your league and then "Game Settings" from that menu.... if not that one, when there click "players and facegen" tab of settings... it's 1 of those 2 locations for the settings that controls position player fatigue. if it works like settings that affect SP recovery time, it's effects are retroactive/immediate. |

well, if he rested for 5 days and didn't pinch hit something is wrong.
tech help will require a tech support post in that forum. i'm sure there's a sticky there for posting instructions. maybe somethign funky just occured and some data got corrupted. (in that case they won't be able to help much, but maybe able to diagnose from files) other options: try cloning the player... see if problem follows. if not, delete the bugged player. if so, just make aplayer and copy over ratings from editor... personality, service days, etc etc etc. new player, no problem. make sure the problem is isolated to your 1 player, and it isn't league-wide, of course. also, if year 1 think of just restarting if it gets too complicated. could restart and be off and running no hassles and may end up playing more in some contexts. I'd like to try creating a new player but where/how does one do that? Fortunately, problem is just with this one player, not league wide. |

he set it to 'none' in an above post.
you can make a player from more than 1 screen. Free Agents screen for sure, but not sure of team player list. anyway, go to Free Agents or most any player list and in "Available Actions" in top-right portion of screen there should be an option to create a player. you can mass create many or just 1. should even be an 'import historical' player option too. ** you need commissioner mode on. this is found in your manager options area -- go to manager's office it's in that vicinity of the GUI. same for editing players to match up. if that does fix it, i'd retire or delete that broken player. |

Gee, the guy who was at 0% rest for more than a weeks has moved up to 75%! It may have been increasing incrementally when i was playing out 5 games Friday.
Anyway, many thanks for all who answered and now I also know how to create a player! |

something weird happened for sure.. or, maybe he was pinch hitting or being used as a DH? that delays fatigue recovery recovery. with default, i don't think it's possible for a catcher to be fatigued after 2 days off.
i.e. run them down to 0% by forcing them to start and it can only take 2 days to recover. there's nothing lower than 0%. if it doesn't continue / reoccur, then it's most likely self-inflicted. no biggie, but may want to figure it out to avoid it in future. that would be bad if your best catcher was out for a few playoff games or something. |
