Well, rookie, I see you wasted no time...
Standard MLB League w/ largely default settings. Auto-calc modifiers based on default 2018 league totals.
- Breaks Ichiro's single season hits record by four (266) - First player to hit .400 in a season since Ted Williams in 1941 (101 years) - 1 MVP award I've only seen a handful of people hit .360+ in all of the leagues I've gone through, but this is the first I've ever seen anyone hit .400; let alone, a rookie. Anyone else seen it happen, rookie or otherwise, in a Standard league? Last edited by bigd51; 07-18-2018 at 05:07 PM. |

That's pretty cool....closest I have ever had was a guy the Reds found in the Mexican League who was just a hitting machine, I think he was a fictional guy created by the game whose name was Pedro Lopez or Lopes. He was batting .407 with 10 games left in the season and ended going 2 for 40 or something like that and ended up hitting .391 for the year. He played another 7 season for the Reds and never hit better than .330 in a single season.

Wow! That's awesome.
Looks like you got your J2 International FA money's worth in one season. |

Good lord. You should post occasional updates throughout his career if you have the time/energy.

I've seen one .400 hitter in OOTP, and it was back in in OOTP6. He was sitting at .400 with a couple of meaningless games at the end of the season to play (playoff spot was already clinched), so I sat him. The AI went and used him as a pinch-hitter in both games, and he went 2-2.

I just got an email at the end of the season saying he had joined the .400 club. I was like "no way he played a full season", then I saw 600 AB's and was like wwhhhhattt? Last edited by bigd51; 07-18-2018 at 02:24 PM. |

For sure keep us updated. If he can keep hitting like that I'd love to see his career totals.

in the real world I think that's the only way to get .400 hitter again is when scouts not so sure about a player.weak spots yet as where to position the players or where to pitch to him
I love seeing that in this game. I had a rookie give Colorado Rockies player of 78 homeruns and they beat me in the world series that year and that's when I noticed him |
